The jewel in the crown, the technological vanguard of humanity. A self-sufficient
city created by the Founding Father to maintain the hope of humanity and recover
part of the world we know today. A city that is home to people from all the world’s
cultures and their greatest minds. A noble ideal to change the world.
But if we know one thing, it is that things hardly change. An immigration uncontrolled
by political interests that overflows the city systems, mafias and great
powers fighting to obtain total power, the rapid evolution of technologies makes
it uncontrollable, implants, turning humans into machines, the growing drugs,
and As if that were not enough, the murder of the father of the city. Corruption
now consumes the streets, leaving a battlefield.
Why Skyland?
In Skyland we use to make a type of metaphorical
series showing a dystopian future in the style of Black Mirror, with a life world with many stories like Games of Thrones. Where to show a not-so-distant future, where the uncontrolled and corrupt society finds the darkest side. The machine becoming human, the human becoming a machine. Everyone takes the opportunity to get to the top, no matter what.
Bring together great action content balancing in perfect synergy with a plot full of secrets, creating a visual and narrative spectacle.
The cyberpunk style brings great racial and cultural diversity, bringing them all together in a city about to explode.
“We want to create something deep. Everything has its past behind it, the details, the stories in the streets, to create a city that is alive, with many secrets to discover.”
Why? Because we want to develop as artists, each one in their different departments. And demonstrate and show us that with love and patience, any project can be carried out.
DEEP BACKGROUND
The important thing of everything is the base, so we decided to create a complex world full of stories, connections and confrontations between the powers of the city, the low world and the high world, syndicates, companies and mafias.

The short film explores the dark streets of Skyland, full of neon lights, holographic advertising and the constant movement of people, a city that never sleeps.

SYNOPSIS
Skyland, a corrupt city where peace and chaos coexist hand in hand. After the death of the ‘Founding Father’, life in this city has negligible value.
Black Sun, one of the most powerful organizations in Skyland, sends two of its men, Zero and William, to take some relevant files that could break down the city. Zero and William head to La Colmena to infiltrate the Zhang Liú nightclub and recover the “Skyland Project”. Where nothing is as it seems, the duo will have to make morally difficult decisions.
zERO
A YOUNG MAN WITH STRON IDEALS, ASTUTE AND CALCULATING. LIFE HAS BECOME SOMEWHAT COLD TO HIM AND HE HOLDS RESENTMENT TOWARDS THE SYSTEM, BUT HE CONTINUES TO HAVE FAITH IN THE CHANGE. 27 YEARS OLD.
A clone product of the Founding Father in secret. Abandoned on the streets after his death, adopted and raised by the Cuervo clan, a small society of underworld survivors. There he meets William, with whom he enters the streets and develops all kinds of skills to survive. Devoting themselves to cleaning the streets of gangs, which makes them increasingly skilled in combat. Later, he meets Iria, an extraordinary hacker who offers to help them in their raids in exchange for a percentage. As time passes he is recruited into Black Sun’s military forces, where he will quickly rise throug the ranks, with the goal of changing the city from within.
In his future, incited by the wires of Monroe, leader of Black Sun, he ends up with William as an enemy. He will be wanted as a criminal by Black Sun, while he lurks in the shadows of the city and prepares to end everything.
Shrouded in darkness, focusing his hatred on the upper echelons, the unions that move the world. His objective is to eliminate the leaders, expose the dirty laundry and awaken the city blinded by these false idols, destroying every iota of his authority.

WILLIAM
A MAN OF PURE FIRE, IMPULSIVE AND STRONG CONVICTION. HIS PAST TAKES A TOLL ON HIS PERSONALITY AND HE FINDS IT DIFFICULT TO TRUST OTHERS, FEARING THAT THEY WILL BETRAY HIM AGAIN. 33 YEARS OLD.
Sold by his mother to the Crows in exchange for drugs, he grew up distant, with the idea that humanity would always betray him when things went wrong, although he was always a good person and deep down he had a glimmer of hope. He grew up on the streets with Zero, protecting him in some way as if he were an older brother. Both dedicate themselves to clearing the streets of gangs, which makes them increasingly skilled in combat, later allowing their entry into Black Sun easily.
In his future, the sudden rise in rank blinds his ambition to change the city from within the system, causing
Monroe to play tricks on him and making a difficult decision, ending Zero’s feud and placing him as Monroe’s
right-hand man. Commanding Black Sun’s shock forces.Although with a good heart, he slowly begins to focus his power on the good of the union and his ambition, rather than on the humanity he initially sought, believing that the solution would be to clean up the corrupt streets and the scum. from the city.

MONROE
FIRM ATTITUDE AND GREAT TEMPER, WITHOUT A DOUBT A VERY STRATEGIC LEADER. HIS EXPERIENCE MAKE HIM A TOUGH PERSON, HE DOESN’T TOLERATE MISTAKES, AND WILL REMOVE ANY OBSTACLE IN HIS WAY. 67 YEARS OLD, BUT LOOKS 30’s DUE TO THE EFFECT OF THE ANGEL’S BREATH.
His story begins before the fall of the Founding Father, in a militarized home in the residential neighborhood, with the city in full swing. His mother, dedicated to science, encourages him to study, but he decides to follow the path of his military father, with the thought of being able to defend the city from the times to come.
While still a teenager, he decides to enter Black Sun and train as a soldier, and thus enters the force. But her life took a turn when a group of Zealots raided her mother’s
laboratory in the name of her deity, murdered her and destroyed everything, erecting an altar there made of human and robot limbs. The father succumbs to madness and is admitted to a psychiatric hospital. They deprive Monroe of the truth and do not allow him to see it, military secrets. At this point, he makes the decision to get to the top no matter what and take control. His ambition leads him to reach the position in charge of security in the city government, next to the Founding Father, where he will end up orchestrating together with the other two sub-leaders to eliminate him and later divide the company between them. The plan is carried out, causing the Collapse, and using directed chaos to end up at the head of the Black Sun Syndicate, being the largest military force, with questionable methods and a ruthless attitude.

IRIA
A DECISIVE AND VERY INTELLIGENT YOUNG WOMAN, CAPABLE OF MASTERING THE MOST COMPLICATED SYSTEMS. GAINING HER TRUST IS QUITE DIFFICULT, IN ADDITION TO BEING QUITE LONELY. 28 YEARS OLD.
Born in an orphanage in the residential district, she grew up apart from social standards, being little accepted, something that did not matter to her at all. A great ear for capturing information, a desire to investigate and a love for technology.
She uncovers the dirty laundry of the orphanage and a high-ranking family that traffics children. When they discover her and hunt her down, she deceives everyone, reveals the case to the public and takes a good amount of money. She flees the place and establishes a base of operations in the Colmena neighborhood. Later, the H4CK group makes contact with her and ends up signing her into their ranks, in a quest to unlock the Network 2.0 blocked by the Founding Father and access the last and coveted loophole in the Skyland network.
She ends up having a meeting with William and Zero, and helps them with one of her raids, creating a bond with both of them. In the future she breaks it after the conflict between William and Zero, remaining on the latter’s side. Her adding a new goal to her list.

HIROKO
EXPERIMENTED SMUGGLER, MANY YEARS IN THE BUSINESS MAKE HER AN AWESOME AND CUNNING WOMAN. 34 YEARS
Raised among mafia families, and as tradition dictates from generation to generation, she has not seen another world in her entire life. But without a doubt, she is good at what she does, and she has kept the family name.

He discovers his passion for cinema at an early age. He began his acting training in ‘La base del actor’ with Javier Manrique and years later with the person who to this day he still considers his teacher, Victoria Di pace.
At 17 years old he debuted in the children’s series ‘NOTE AND FOUND’ for FamilyChannel. As of today, he is awaiting the release of the series »LAS SABINAS» for DisneyChannel Plus. He has participated in series such as ‘VIS A VIS’ alongside Najwa Nimri, ‘CARDO’, ‘MARICON PERDIDO’ ‘among others.
At the age of 19 he made his film debut with the blockbuster ‘PALMERAS EN LA NIEVE’. While studying film direction and screenwriting he combined his career with appearances in films such as ‘THE HEROES OF EVIL’
or ‘AMERICAN CARNAGE’ for the North American industry. He also has one of the main characters in the movie «DOS ROMBOS».
He has worked on stages such as the San Sebastián auditorium, the TNC (national theater of Catalonia, among others) with the performance of ‘GAZOLINE’ written by Jordi Casanovas.
In his directing training he has had the pleasure of being nurtured alongside Ángel Gómez Hernández, film director, screenwriter and producer.
Michael Batista has a great projection with future projects such as the short film »The Game» (in post-production phase) or the feature film «Out of Sight», a tragic cinema for individual self-criticism. He is also «The Bodyguard» action short film in the financing phase.

In the stunt department, Lorenzo Casares from All4Action, one of the largest stunt companies in Spain. International experience with more than 30 years in the world of cinema, television and advertising.
Being part of films and series such as ‘Game of Thrones’, ‘The Promised’, ‘Uncharted’ or ‘Centauro’. Nominated by Netflix Awards 2016 in the series ‘Narcos’ and by S.A.G Awards 2019 in the series ‘Jack Ryan’.
As a choreographer, Dani Medina, with years of experience creating
combat concepts, brings the style and movements of the dynamic
choreographies.
The team is gathered, we have the means, the desire and the story with all its details. Now the first step within our objectives is to create a spectacular short film and teaser trailer that shows the utopian world of Project 0.
Being a cyberpunk-themed project, the budget skyrockets. The costumes, scenery, art and special effects take a big part in the matter. The short film is prepared to be able to create its teaser, so with the same budget we fulfill both objectives.
Now we talk about budget. Taking into account the large equipment required, effects, locations, food and everything necessary, we place the need at 43,085,72 euros.
Our involvement in the project is 200%, something created with heart and great professionals. We are not willing to leave the project halfway, it will reach the screens at all costs.
After that, next objective is the 1º Season of the series, wich proffesionals has apraised it for us with a cost of around 24 million. We have two options:
- Try to sell the project to a platform and do it with them, with the possibility of changes they will make. Taking all the cost we cannot afford.
- Collect the budget by our self and make the original deep idea of this utopic dark world. Of course hiring a bigger team.
